While the kids are back at school, and you have a few free hours, plan a visit to Cagan Crossings Library this month. Of course, there are activities and materials for all ages and many interests. Regular children’s programming returns in September, but the family is welcome to visit to check out books and movies or use computers.
On August 19th Cagan will host two concurrent chess tournaments. One is free and open to the public. The other is U.S. Chess Federation sanctioned. See www.mylakelibrary.org for more details including times and fees.
Also on the 19th the Friends of the Library will host their monthly book sale beginning at 9:00 in the lobby. Our large coffee-table size books are selling for a suggested donation of only $3.00 or two for $5.
Regular events at Cagan include meetings of the Kindred Stitchers on Mondays at 1:00 and the Chronicles of Yarnia on Thursdays at 4:00. All ages and skill levels are welcome at both. Also on Mondays enjoy some relaxing fun with the Cagan Coloring Club at 6:00. Pencils and coloring sheets are provided or bring your own.
If you’re retiring soon or looking at health care options, the library is hosting “Medicare 101 Workshop of Florida” on August 30 from 5:30-7:00.
For more information on these and other events, visit www.mylakelibrary.org or call (352)243-1840. Cagan Library is located conveniently in the heart of the Four Corners at 16729 Cagan Oaks.
