Find A Penny, Pick It Up, All Day Long You’ll Have Good Luck! Heads or tails, either way, you would you be lucky to have a girl like our Penny! This lovely girl is actually a Houndhaven legacy, thanks to her mom and brother. Almost a year ago, we had the adorable pair Mama Molly and her sweet puppy Norman. Molly and Norman successfully found their forever homes, as did all of her other puppies, before she made her way to our rescue. One of her lovely puppies was Penny. Unfortunately, Penny’s family could no longer care for her, so we opened up our arms to welcome her into our Houndhaven family until we are able to find her “furever” home.
Penny is a stunning one year old, black lab mix. As you can see by her picture, Penny is a fun-loving girl. You can get this look of captivation by petting her, snuggling with her, and most importantly…playing fetch with her! She lights up when it comes to play time and toys. Penny has played in the yards with quite a few different dogs, and has enjoyed her time with each one. She is currently playing with the handsome Buddy.
Penny is a wonderful combination of sweet and playful; curious and smart. She knows “sit”, “down”, “look”, and “come”. She is eager to please, so she is sure to learn plenty more if given the opportunity. Penny not only enjoys fetching ball and toys, she also enjoys a good game of chase with lizards and insects…hey whatever keeps them interested! The one thing that seems to please Penny the most though is a good snuggle session with the volunteers. After a play session in the yard, she will quietly lay down in her kennel and wait for a volunteer to come give her treats and lots of hugs.
Penny’s life started out rough, and although she lost her home, she has remained a sweet and playful girl. All she’s hoping for is a forever home filled with lots of love and fun. If you’re ready to welcome this lovely Penny into your home, you’re sure to have many a lucky day. Meet Sweet Buddy! Buddy is a very sweet lab/hound mix, around 7-8 years old, gets along well with other dogs, loves all people. This poor boy has gone through many disappointments in his life. Unfortunately, he is heart worm positive and very thin. We will continue to pay for his heart worm treatments until he is heart worm negative. Everyone at RTR is giving Buddy plenty of love and TLC. He is truly a sweetheart!
Buddy says “Are you looking for an emotionally secure, mutually satisfying, low maintenance relationship? I am all you need. Let me sit at your feet, walk by your side, and I’ll be your devoted companion forever.” Buddy will be loyal to you to the moon and back. He is looking for a human companion to be his best friend, hold his paw, guide him and love him. If you are looking to make a difference in a dog’s life, you are the person for Buddy. We feel Buddy will do better if he could be in a home environment even if he could have a foster home until he finds his forever family. Please call 352-240-1583 if you would be interested in meeting Buddy.

Galvin is looking for a fun-loving home that will give him lots of attention and play time. He would be a great match for a family with kids. Galvin does well with other dogs, and is sure to keep you entertained! Galvin has one sibling left who is also looking for a family in case you’re looking for TWO puppies!
