The Central Florida Dreamplex, a Clermont-based not-for-profit organization providing therapy, sports, and fitness options for those with disabilities, announces the beginning of its Adaptive Aquatics Program! The program will offer swim lessons and aquatic therapies for children and adults with physical disabilities and/or special needs. Ginny Harrison will serve as Director for this newly-created aquatics program. She has over 45 years of swimming instruction experience, teaching swimmers ranging in age from 6 months to senior adults and is a certified American Red Cross Instructor Trainer and a certified Adaptive Aquatics Instructor.
Swim lessons through the Central Florida Dreamplex will begin in April, with registration opening in March. A limited number of scholarships will be available in this first year of operations. All instructors will be certified as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or Basic Safety Instructor, in First Aid/CPR/AED, and as an Adaptive Aquatics Instructor.
