DAVENPORT – Sometimes, in our stressful lives, simply trying to relieve stress can become a stressful task unto itself. Yarisa Bonet, the owner of Fibrofit Wellness and Yoga Studio, wants to help — something she intends to do by providing individualized, holistic plans for beginners to advanced students.
“Using a holistic approach, we focus on all areas of wellness: emotional, physical and mental health,” Bonet said. “You have to care for yourself in each area.”
Last month, Bonet opened the doors of the Fibrofit Wellness and Yoga Studio’s Davenport location and she hopes to have a hand in positively changing the lives of her students in that area.
“I wanted to open a place for everyone (where) could come who wants to manage stress, live a healthy lifestyle and (practice) good self-care,” she said.
There are many ways to benefit from the services Bonet offers.
Individuals may attend one or numerous classes paying by the class or by purchasing a package. Classes range from Chair, Gentle, Hatha, Yin and Flow Yoga to Belly Dancing to Restorative/Core, and Reiki Sessions; to Acupuncture; and Life and Mental Health Counseling.
For those who are interested in whole-body wellness, Bonet — who is a medical doctor — is certified in numerous areas, including yoga, mental health and rehabilitation, emotional intelligence and several other specializations.
Bonet offers to provide a one-time evaluation and, during this 90-minute one-on-one time, she analyzes aspects from eating and sleeping habits to how one feels when waking up, on to the amount of physical activity and what type one participates in.
“I want an accurate picture of the whole person so I can provide the best plan to wellness,” she said.
This evaluation also concludes with a 30-minute Biomat Therapy session, a whole-body relaxation method using a heating pad and music therapy.
In 2014, Bonet opened the first Fibrofit location in Orlando and specializing in treating Fibromyalgia. Eventually, she wanted to expand to a second location and chose Polk County to do so. Originally from Puerto Rico, she and her family live in Davenport, and she said they love it.
“I love Polk County. I am so happy taking back roads and getting to know my neighbors,” Bonet said.
Bonet and her team of instructors also are available for corporate seminars, lunch and learns and other types of meetings. Kids are invited to attend the Kids Yoga or TaiChi classes.
