Dr. Lopez has been helping patients lose weight for over five years. He has developed a weight loss program that involves several medication options, metabolic testing, diet and exercise plans - all medically supervised and individualized for your personal needs. His weight loss plan has also been successful for diabetic patients helping to lower blood sugars, A1C levels. He has also been assisting patients to lose weight before undergoing hip or knee surgery. This has helped the patient to have an easier recovery.
For many patients, losing weight helps to lower blood pressure, in some cases, this will allow patients to lessen the amount, or maybe even stop one or more of their medications. Dr. Michael Gallina states, “losing weight with Dr. Lopez’s program was easy and individually tailored to meet my specific needs and hectic schedule.” Sherie Meinecke, Dr. Lopez’s nurse, is amazed by some of the patient’s results. She says, “one patient lost 64 pounds in 10 months, she looked so different, you would hardly recognize her!”
Dr. Lopez is board certified in internal medicine. Born in queens, New York, he moved to Florida at two months of age and has resided here ever since. After graduating from high school in Holiday, Florida, he attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, then the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He completed his residency training at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He first joined a multi-specialty clinic in Winter Haven, then started his own practice here in Haines City in July of 2008.
Dr. Lopez treats patients ages 16 and older, for primary care issues. The weight loss program Cypress Medical Center offers is just the tip of the iceberg, they also specialize in treating low testosterone, breathing problems such as asthma, COPD, congestive heart failure, skin problems.
