Gavel Clubs are affiliated clubs of Toastmasters International that are devoted towards making effective oral communication a world-wide reality. This club is dedicated for minors and those individuals who are greatly interested in Toastmasters training but cannot afford to pay Toastmasters dues. Gavel Club provides such individuals an opportunity to develop their speaking and listening, skills for enhancing their self-realization and leadership abilities.

Winter Haven Toastmasters Club #2104 awarded John Davis with the Gavel's award for sponsoring a Gavel Club. John Davis is a teacher in The Vanguard School, Lake Wales, and a member of Winter Haven Toastmasters Club #2104 since 1 April, 2009. As a Toastmasters member, John has served as a Treasurer and Vice President Public Relations for six months each. He received his Competent Communicator award this year. John is married and has two children.
