East Ridge FFA Earns Top Honors

During the week of June 13-17, twenty-one members of the East Ridge FFA traveled to the Caribbe Royale in Orlando to attend the 81st Florida FFA State Convention and Leadership Conference. At the conference, several members competed for state honors and many top honors were received. The Citrus Evaluation Team was recognized for the 2010 state championship, the Land Evaluation Team was recognized for the state championship, the Sales and Service team was recognized for the state championship and the Veterinary Assisting Team was recognized for the state championship. The parliamentary procedure team earned 2nd place in the state and 3 additional teams were recognized for top 5 state finishes. Aside from these honors, 4 FFA members earned the State FFA Degree and 4 members were selected to receive the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention which is held in Indianapolis this October.
The National FFA Organization is a national youth leadership organization of students enrolled in an agriscience education program with 507,763 members across the nation. The primary mission of the FFA is "to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success".
