Don't Miss Pastfinders Genealogy Group's Invitation!
Friday, September 16, 2011
Saturday, October 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pastfinders will host a free and comprehensive Open House at the Cooper Memorial Library in Clermont for any and all interested in learning how to begin creating a family tree or to get help in advancing research in progress. Experienced researcher members will be on hand to share their knowledge and expertise. Various tables will be manned by members: Welcome, Greeters and Registration table, Refreshments Table; Who are the Pastfinders Info Table; Getting started in Genealogy Table; Vital Records Table - Interpreting Census Data; Immigration and Ethnic History Resources Table - includes Tour of Special Collections Room; and Using the Computer for Research and Genealogy Programs for your own Record Management Table.
Please call Dottie at 352-242-9805 for more information if needed, but DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY if you have ever contemplated finding your ancestors and their origins. The writer of this piece is an enthusiastic Pastfinder with a special interest in recording family medical histories and in assisting others, if possible, in deciphering archaic medical terms and diagnoses. There are members with many, many different areas of special interest such as general research, research in particular countries, researching probate records, researching church records, and on and on it goes. Where else could you find so much experience and help offered for free? And we are a friendly bunch of souls, too. Representatives of The Daughters of the American Revolution, the Historical Society, and the LDS Family History Center will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions. So come on over to the library and meet the Pastfinders on Saturday morning 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. October 8, 2011!
