Nature's Place Therapy Services
Friday, July 15, 2011
Our non-profit Outpatient Rehab Clinic is excited to be operating in this area for over two years. Our name is unique, because like it says, "Nature's Place", we incorporate Nature in a fun, yet, therapeutic way. Physical, Speech and Occupational therapy is available to physically, mentally, and developmentally disabled infants, children and now adults. We accept most insurances, and we need a referral from your pediatrician or primary doctor. Spanish/English translation is also available.
Our program consists of hands on activities, like physical exercises, sensory and cognitive skills training, cooking, homemaking activities, gardening, animal caretaking, and more. (We have a small petting zoo with goats, pot belly pigs, horses, dogs and a cat, of course!) We are currently planning and preparing a hippo-therapy program, where therapy will be provided on a horse. As part of our horticulture program, our clients also learn to tend a vegetable garden, were we are currently grow a variety of veggies, fruits, and plants.
One of Nature's Place main goals is to increase public awareness and education of the various therapies we provide, as well as how they influence therapy progress. We are devoted to help our clients function completely in their daily life.
Nature's Place is supported through private donations, grants and fund-raising events. We offer several opportunities according to your area of interest:
*Financial Support
*Rehabilitation Services
*Volunteering
*Clinical site for research
*School affiliations
We are located 1.5 miles from Hwy 27, behind 547's Texaco Gas Station and Webb's Candy Factory, very near the new Haines City High School. Our address is 1316 S. Blvd. West, Davenport, FL 33837. Our phone number is (863) 421-0556, Fax (863) 421-0467. Please feel free to call or schedule a tour, by contacting Deborah Adams, or myself, Carmen Saldana.
