Brendon Tillett and Scotty Brazell had an opportunity to play with the big boys in the Orange County Senior Bowl. Both players contributed in the Easts' 32-14 victory. There was a twist to the setup of the game. Because of numbers, Tillett, Brazell along with Foundations' Head Coach Brad Lord were part of the east squad. Tillett had a strong outing completing 6 of 13 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. He hooked up on a 30 yard touchdown pass to Kyle Snead of Timber Creek early in the second quarter. Brazell had a 50 yard punt, an extra point, and bombed a kickoff to the goal line in a gusting wind. The kickoffs were set at the 30 yard line just as they are in college.
Our players had a great time. They really stepped up and competed with the cream of the crop in the Metro Orlando area. Their hard work and dedication really paid off and I am really proud of them. Both players are solid and have set the bar for Foundation Football. I had a blast coaching with a great coaching staff headed up by Orlando Christian Preps' Dave Langdon and Phil Ziglar of Boone. Coach Petree from West Orange High School (who headed up the West squad), and I joked & jabbed with each other all week since we are so close in location and our players opposed each other.
Tillett and Brazell have not yet committed, but have narrowed down their choices and will probably announce their intentions in January.
