Connect with The Connection Church

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

When you hear the word 'church' it conjures up an image of a building for religious worship. In actuality, a 'church' is a body or organization of Christian believers. The Connection Church in Kissimmee, at 700 Generation Point is a prime example.

Thomas Todd, Associate Pastor of the Connection Church, said that besides regular Sunday services at 10 a.m. at the church, members gather at homes all over Osceola County throughout the week for smaller groups of worship. The church is non-denominational and "We believe in building people like Jesus, that is our vision," said Todd.

The Connection got started on Easter Sunday, 2006, by Head Pastor Rick and his wife Deb Fiechter. They moved from Indiana to Florida in June 2005 for the purpose of planting a church because God led them to the sunshine state. "The Connection was a fitting name because people desire to connect with one another and have meaningful relationships," said Fiechter. "Ultimately, people need a connection with the Lord and that is what we are seeking to provide." There are approximately 80 members of the church, followers of Christ, active members of the religious community. On a normal Sunday about 250 people attend services and on special occasions, such as Easter and Christmas, about 370 people attend.

"The Connection is set apart from other churches in the community by our pastoral care," said Todd. "We have a pastor for every 15 or so people. We are also gospel centered in our approach to all we do."The church also offers a children's church and student ministries. There is a youth group that is held every Thursday for the teens to learn more about Christ and to help them get involved in their community.

There is a lot more to The Connection church. One of the main things would be that they are very friendly and outward focused; they want to reach out to the community and share the love of Christ. They serve in Paramore serve at Sunnyside Youth home to spread the gospel. They also feed the homeless and much more.

Connect means to join, to associate closely with; to establish communication;to attain one's goal or objective. The Connection Churchembodies all of these and maintains fellowship through Jesus Christ.
