Free Folk Festival

Folk fun, family and it’s free! Musicians, crafters, artists and food vendors will all be converging in Historic Downtown Eustis and beautiful Ferran Park on Lake Eustis the first weekend in October. This family oriented musical event is the longest running FREE folk festival in the state of Florida providing a truly unique cultural and musical experience for all ages.
Venues throughout the downtown and lake front provide the setting for 50 performing groups with more than 150 musicians. They will be performing a variety of musical styles: including original, Americana, traditional and vintage folk, blues, celtic, bluegrass, and gospel.
Sit in the shade at the historic Alice B. McClellen Band Shell in the Ferran park, visit in the cool comfort of Bay Street Theater, Lake Eustis Museum of Art, and check out other music venues.
Bring your instrument and jam along at the jam tents. Want to try your hand at song writing? Write a song for the “Funniest Folk Song” contest, competition is Sunday 10:00 AM. Information and applications are available on the website. Last festival’s winner: Dan Gribbin “The Deadbeat”.
The children’s area will be hosted by Lake Eustis Museum of Art. All venues are children friendly and all music is appropriate for all listeners.
Food vendors will be offering their specialties on Ferran Park Drive where you can listen to music at the Band Shell. Several local food establishments will also be venues for music, so grab a bite to eat or just sit and listen.
Art, craft and general merchandise vendors are located within Ferran Park. Unique items include handmade jewelry, soaps, jams, honey, clothing and paintings by featured artist Ernest M Lee are just a few of the vendors.
Public Arts and Music (PAM) has a merchandise booth were you can purchase unique festival shirts, and performing artist’s CD’s.
The two-day festival’s hours are: Saturday 10AM to 9 PM and Sunday 11AM to 5PM.
Saturday’s Evening Performances continue lakeside in the historic Alice McClelland Band Shell, with featured artists.
