Give A Pet A Home For The Holidays!

Posted on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 8:38 am

Say hello to handsome Kodiak! This sweet boy, with the most soulful eyes, knows how to charm his way into anyone’s heart. Poor Kodiak had a little bit of rough start, as he was adopted from animal control at a young age, and then returned. Sadly, people don’t often realize the commitment it takes to raise a growing puppy. Kodiak, while young, has proven to be a fun loving, yet mild mannered pup.
Kodiak is a black lab mix, just shy of one year old. He is fully grown, and weighs in at 49 pounds. Kodiak still has the playful nature of a pup, as he loves to play with toys, enjoys fetch, and hasn’t met a dog he didn’t like. He is a super sweet boy, and will roll over onto his back to beckon volunteers over for some serious belly rubs.
While Kodiak is young, he is already learning commands such as “sit” and “lay down”. He is very eager to please, so he is sure to learn many more commands if given the opportunity. Kodiak enjoys walks, and even takes part of the leash in his mouth to help you walk him. He likes car rides, tasty treats, flipping his Nylabone in the air, and having the volunteers shower him with affection.
The beauty of dogs is that they hold no grudges. The same holds true for Kodiak. Even though his life got turned upside down, he has never lost his playful spirit or love of people. All he wants is to have a family to call his own…forever. In return he will be your funny, loving, playful, most devoted friend. If you’ve been looking for a snuggle bear, please visit www.houndhaven.org to review our adoption policies and procedures, and complete an application. Kodiak would love to be home for the holidays!
