The Clermont Recreation Club will have an open house on Saturday, January 20th from 1-4 p.m.at the Kehlor Building at 466 W. Minneola Avenue to say farewell to a building that has served the community for nearly a century. The building will be demolished after a new building is constructed. The building will remain open until a new building is ready.
The Club invites anyone interested to come and learn the history of the building and the activities that are offered. The Club offers many activities, Chess, Party Bridge, Duplicate Bridge, Pinochle, Samba, Scrabble, Dominoes and a Philosophy Group. Refreshments will be served and door prizes. Shuffleboard has a long history in Clermont and has great shuffleboard courts, thanks to the City. The Club invites anyone interested living in the area to come to Kehlor Park 466 W. Minneola Ave on any Tuesday, Friday at 1:00 p.m. or Saturday at 9:00 a.m. We provide basic instruction to newcomers and there is no cost to give the game a try. It is a great way to meet new people. Clermont held a district amateur tournament and 2 clermont teams placed. DeWayne Toomey and Stephen Braneky placed 4th in the main event, Ed Silva and Doris Kostrezewa placed 3rd in consolation.
