Pastfinders Genealogical Society would like to ring in the New Year with James N. Jackson. Mr. Jackson will be taking a light-hearted look at research that made him laugh. When attorneys, clerks, enumerators, sextons and church staff get mixed in with millions of people from all walks of life with foreign accents, the results are unbearable.
James N. Jackson has been interested in genealogy and local history for over 40 years. The Detroit Society of Genealogical Research, Inc., The Oakland County Genealogical Society and the Calhoun County Genealogical Society have all had the pleasure of having him serve as their president at some point. He was a Past-Camp Commander for Camp #22 of the Sons of the Civil War in Marshall, MI. Between having several articles published, Mr. Jackson has written The Guide To The First Fifty Years of the DSGR Magazine, considered one of the best 50 resources for Michigan Genealogy by Michigan’s History Arts and Libraries. James was honored in 2006 with the Lucy Mary Kellogg award by the Michigan Genealogical Council for his contributions.
Please come meet him at this free presentation at Cooper Memorial Library Room 108. Doors open at 4:30, presentation starts at 5pm On Thursday, January 10, 2019. For more information, please find us on Facebook or at PastfindersSLC.org
