If your kids or grandkids are bored now that school is out, or you’re looking for a cool spot to pass time productively this summer, stop by Cagan Crossings Library. Most activities are free and do not require a library card.
Don’t forget the library has hundreds of popular books and graphic novels for your teens as well as a large selection of video games and movies.
This year’s Summer Reading Program “Build a Better World” lasts from June 12-July 20. Registration begins Monday, June 5, 11 am-7 pm. You can pick up the registration packet and enter your child in a grand prize drawing. The last day to register is Friday, June 30. You can also find a brochure and calendar on the library’s website.
All ages can learn or practice chess on Mondays at 5:00. Also on Mondays, the Kindred Stitchers gather at 1:00 for sewing or quilting. The Chronicles of Yarnia needle arts group meets each Thursday from 4-6 pm. Saturday, June 9 the library will host Fiber Day. For even more events, pick up a calendar at the circulation desk or check online at www.mylakelibrary.org. The library is located handily at 16729 Cagan Oaks in the heart of Four Corners. You can phone (352)243-1840 with any questions.
The Friends of the Library will host their monthly book sale on June 24 in the lobby from 9:00-1:30. To learn more about the Friends or join the group, visit www.caganfriends.com or visit their Facebook page.
The library is overwhelmed by generous donations this spring, so they are requesting that you drop off no more than one or two boxes or bags of clean items until Labor Day. Please bring all such items to the circulation desk indoors.
