If you enjoyed watching curling in the Olympics, you may enjoy playing shuffleboard which has similarities to curling in the strategy of the game. But a much less complicated game to play.
The Clermont Recreation Club invites anyone living in the area to try the game out at no cost or equipment required. Just come to Kehlor Park at 466 W. Minneola Ave in Clermont on any Tuesday, Friday at 1:00 p.m, Saturday at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. We have a people friendly group that plays. We love having our winter visitors come and play. The Club offers a brief orientation to the game on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. with a pizza lunch at noon at no cost.
Shuffleboard offers competition at different levels and one can participate in tournaments all year if one so desires. Two members of the Clermont Club, George Synder and Tom Allen attained professional status in the last year, by participating in numerous tournaments and earning points by placing or winning tournaments.
