Wildlife Volunteers Needed

Posted on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1:37 am

scrub jayIf you enjoy nature, wildflowers, fresh air and sunshine, you are invited to become a Florida Scrub-Jay Trailblazer. Your hours will be flexible, and you will be invited to the monthly Trailday.
Trailday (4th Saturday of each month) can start as early as 7am-8am if you enjoy Blissful Sunrise Yoga;  for those who wish to skip that part, you can join us from 8am –11am for a continental breakfast on the Trailhouse porch followed by a variety of trail maintenance projects.
Projects may include trimming trees for the nesting season, or weeding around the wildflowers and scrub-oaks. If you enjoy butterflies and pollinators, those gardens are tended to by volunteers as well. Photographers are always needed for events as well as for documentation and signage.
Teachers are welcome and needed so please let us know if you are a recent retired teacher and would like to help.
For the indoor person, we need grant writers, social media experts, and marketing talents.
The first Saturday of each month is The Florida Scrub-Jay Trail Orientation from 8am-11am. This is a great first step and introduction to our organization.
For further information or to apply as a volunteer or register for the Orientation please call (352)-429-5566 or e-mail info@scrubjaytrail.org.
